I miss my grand-kids, Father.
It’s no-one’s fault.
We live some way apart,
and we struggle to get there,
and they struggle to get here.
Our lives are busy.
There are other things drag on our time.
But I want to see how they are growing,
To hear of their new achievements,
To know the things that interest them,
To understand their evolving character,
To enjoy their vibrant energy,
And to share the things that delight them.
Do you feel that way about me, Father,
When I don’t keep in touch,
When there’s a gap between my visits
Turn to the Lord and pray to him, now that he is near. (Isaiah 55: 6, GNT)
